Review | Garnier BB Cream

Disclaimer: Sorry about not posting very much! Zoe has been on holiday and I have been really busy, but we're back. It's me Edith posting today. Pls Enjoy!

Ciao bella!

How has everyone been? Good, hopefully. :) Today I am reviewing the Garnier BB Cream. I ordered the free samples to try out before I bought anything. All the opinions are my own, and maybe others will get on with it better. Not sure of Zoe's opinion... will ask her soon. Anywho, here's my review:

 What is it?
BB (Blemish Balm) Cream is designed to merge together skincare and make-up, making a so called 'miracle' solution. It is lighter than foundation but not as lightweight as tinted moisturiser. A happy medium if you like. It has been a breakout product and many people really like it. All the big brands including Garnier (obviously! haha), Maybelline etc have been making their own versions. I thought I would try Garnier because they have experience in make-up and skincare.

The Packaging
The little case that the 3 free samples come in is really cute and I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. The packaging that it comes in if you buy it properly isn't anything special, just a bottle that you squeeze (I love that word!)

The Product
Packaging and what the product is supposed to do aside, what is the product really like? I was really expecting a miracle because I have seen the adverts and raves about it, but all I got was a leaves-orange-stains pretty bad tinted moisturiser. It did not cover my blemishes and the only place it worked was my chin. Which has no blemishes. It was OK, I suppose, in the blending area, as it is quite a lightweight formula. But, with a lightweight formula you expect a lightweight product, which I did not get. I don't know if it is just my skin and it works fabulous for everyone else, I'm not sure. I would reccomend ordering a free sample first though, just to check. It retails for around £5.

Go ahead and try it if you wish, but make your expectations low so that maybe you'll be surprised!
See you later! xx

Beauty Bargains!

Ciao bella! It's Edith. Today I was searching through the internet for a concealer and I came across an amazing website. It's called www.directcosmetics.com and it supplies lots of makeup, beauty, perfume etc at amazingly discounted prices. I know that there are lots of websites around like this, but I must say that this is one of the best.
The P&P charges are reasonable at £2.00, but you have to spend at least £2.00 before you can order anything. They only deliver to the UK and Europe at the moment, which is a tad annoying for some, but hopefully they will be delivering to the rest of the world soon.
Some of the amazing offers they have are:
Stila Lip Glaze - £2.99 - Save £12.01
Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream - £5.99 - Save £15.01
Giorgio Red Eau de Toilette 50ml - £19.99 - Save £30.01
There are tons of amazing offers like these on the website, so hunt around for bargains!
There are plenty of products to choose from, and it is an awesome website!
Me and Zoe both love it sooooooooooooooooo much!

Top 5 | High Street/Drugstore Lipsticks

Ciao bella! This is our Top 5 Lipsticks all under £8 for those on a budget, just like us. Here they are:

Revlon Lip Butter - 090 Sweet Tart

Sorry for the weird swatch! x

1| Revlon Lip Butter
We have really been loving the Revlon Lip Butters! Between us we have 4, we both have this one, and this happened to be our favourite. If you want one now we reccomend going out and buying it in Boots now as they are reduced to £5.99. Their smooth and creamy formula gives a great result and finish, and the colours really pop. The packaging is really cool and doesn't break easily. There are 14 colours which is good. We own Sweet Tart (as shown in picture), Strawberry Shortcake, Peach Parfait and Creme Brulee. All of these are really good for colour and consistency. The colour is a hot pink with high shine.

Disclaimer: We will have picture and swatch soon as the lipstick is at Zoe's. Sorry x
2| Rimmel London Kate Lipstick - Shade 03
The gorgeous nude colour glides on and creates a flawless creamy matte finish, and is perfect for any occasion. The colour is a warm pinky nude with greyish undertones. Zoe has been loving this. It's availible in Boots and Superdrug for £5.99 but is on sale for £4.99 in Boots. The other colours are all quite bright and provide a good pop of colour. The packaging is sleek and classy with red lettering saying Kate with a heart that has hand drawn effect. It doesn't get messy easily, when in a makeup bag which is a plus. Finally it stays put for a long time.

NYC Ultra Last Lipwear - 409 Fragile Pink

N
Again a weird swatch sorry x
3| NYC Ultra Last Lipwear
This is a gorgeous shimmery ice pink with gold undertones. It is great for an understated day look with a bit of pop. It retails at £1.49which is amazing for the quality of the product. I also have 407 Smooch which again is really good. The packaging is OK, nothing special, but one thing is annoying is you always seem to catch the lipstick edge on the edge of the lid which is square. SUPER annoying. The consistency and formula is great although can sometimes be a tiny bit dry. It looks great with a clear gloss over the top. Really good product.

Avon Lipstick - can't resist coral

4| Avon Lipstick
One of our old favourite's that we have repurchased is the Avon lipstick in can't resist coral. The title is the most misleading thing I've ever heard. We were expecting and orangey tone but were given a true red. Luckily, this colour is even better. The colour is a hot firery red with a creamy matte finish. It lasts a super long time which is great for busy people. The packaging is awesome. It has a double-ended black and purple ombre gradient which is cool. Were not sure if it's still available, but it was £5.49 we think. However this is a tiny bit over priced for the quality of the product.

MUA Lipstick - Shade 16 Nectar

5| MUA Lipstick
This is a lovely smooth bright orangey coral colour that is great for the lips. MUA is never generally the best quality, but the lipsticks really stand out in quality. Priced at only £1 this is incredible value, stocked by Superdrug. There isn't much to say, apart from it's a good buy that you can't go wrong with. The packaging is OK again nothing special. It is available in a wide range of shades.

Review | Rimmel London Scandal Eyes Mascara

Ciao bella! Recently we purchased Scandal Eyes waterproof mascara to try out as it was only £4.99 in Boots. There are two other versions: Original and Extra Volume. We have heard lots of people raving about it and we wanted to know if it really is that good...

+
First of all, the packaging is really cool. It's bright orange with electric blue writing so very appealing to the eye. Another good thing is the brush size. It's really chunky, so gives you lots of impact. The brush grabs every lash so that you don't get that weird uneven look. Also, the colour intensity is amazing, and even blonde lashes should be turned black by this mascara.

-
The formula is not Rimmel's best. It has a tendancy to clump and that is never good. We opened it the other day and the top had gone all dried up which was disappointing. £4.99 is the sale price, so £7.99 is the real price. It is a bit overpriced for the quality of the of the product, but it's not too bad.

Overall we would reccomend it to anyone who wants a good mascara at a reasonable price. We like it and it does it's job well, but don't expect miracles with this mascara. We don't think this is available in the US. Sorry!
